A Canvas Carousel 13 Artists, 13 Canvases – 169 images!

Our new Exhibition opens on the 6th May and runs until 25th June 2017.

Open Studios will be 12 until 4pm on the 6th May.

This exhibition is about the process behind the image you see on the canvas. We started with 13 blank canvases for 13 artists. Each artist created an image on one canvas which was then passed to another artist who was free to respond in any way they wanted to. This process was repeated until the work had circulated round all 13 artists. Come and see the finished pieces of work and look behind the scenes at this challenging and interesting creative process All Images will be for sale and prints can be ordered when you visit. The Gallery is open every weekend 12 – 4pm and is stewarded by our Studio Artists so you can meet the artists involved in the project.

Saltburn Studios

SALTBURNARTISTS’PROJECTS is a registered charity which has run Saltburn Studios and Gallery in Saltburn-by-the-Sea since 1998.

Saltburn Studios have 15 studio spaces which are occupied by 17 artists and makers. There is a wide range of artistic disciplines being practiced in the studios including photography, website design, felt making, painting, costume design, mosaics, sculpture, surface design, ceramics and glass making. The artists form a thriving artistic community. Our aim is to create an inspirational environment for artists, curators, educationalists and the community.

The range of different artistic disciplines being practiced in the studios means that it is an exciting and creative place to work.

We have a number of Open Studio events throughout the year, our artists also run regular workshops.

We have a Gallery at the front of the Studio Complex which has regular exhibitions showcasing the Studio Artists’ work.

The Studio Artists run the Gallery on a volunteer basis, opening every weekend from 12 noon until 4pm.

We currently receive no grant funding and operate as a self sufficient organisation.
